Attack of the Sister

Saturday the kids were playing ever so nicely on the slide downstairs and Brody "fell" with the aid of his loving sister's angry power. She doesn't like it when you don't play her way. Needless to say, he hit his head and back and was freaking out quite extensively. I thought he broke something the way he was panicking and couldn't catch his breath. After a trip to the Instacare and x-rays he is ok. Some deep tissue bruising is all. (Sarcastically as I roll my eyes.)

And like the poor kid wasn't suffering enough, Sunday night as the kids were supposed to be sleeping I hear Brody screaming that he is bleeding. Payton decided she wanted to sleep in his bed and wouldn't take no for and answer. So, Brody's cheek had to pay. I didn't have the heart to make the poor kid go to school the next day, that and I didn't want anyone to think that I abuse my child. Though when I told his Teacher what had happened and to be careful of his back, she just laughed and said (It's ok, we know Brody has a catsister and aren't surprised when he shows up with scratches on his face.) SAD, my poor little Brody and his vicious sister.

Spring Fever

So the first nice day we have had in a long time and the kids were so excited to be outside. Brody couldn't stop grinning. It was getting old riding his bike up and down the hallway, it just wasn't enough. So, when we said we were going to let them ride they didn't want to stop. 3 hours later we had to pry them off and promise that we could do it again soon. Needless to say they slept well that night.

For Valentine's Day I decided to make something fun, whether I had the time or not. (Usually I don't but for some rediculous reason I can't tell myself no). I traced the kids hands onto some thin wood and then cut them out(Thanks Ali) and the kids painted them accordingly. These ones say I Love(heart) you JUJU. Brody wrote his own name on his, he is getting so big. And Payton insisted that hers was signed Kamea Laka Laka Waka Waka because that is what JuJu calls her and she loves it. I glued magnets on the back and managed to superglue my fingers together also, something I do not recommend. It really hurts when you have to rip your fingers apart from each other taking layers of skin with it. But in the end it was worth it. My Mom loves that she has their hands as frigde magnets to hang the many pictures she has of these monkeys, and the kids were proud of themselves for their paint jobs and the cute smiles they gave for the camera.

Diesel Deer

So, I finally figured out how to load a stinkin' video and thought I would share this with you. Diesel cracks us up, he is just like having another silly child. He reminds me of Eeyore one minute with his sad, pouty eyes. And Tigger the next when he gets so excited to play and run around. He is trying to find the snowball that Curtis threw for him.

Crazy Socks

Since our recent renovations have left our home rather chilly it is necessary
to make the kids wear their slippers or some socks much to their dismay. I should have known never making them wear clothes at home would back-fire at some point.

Payton's feet were cold and we told her for the trillionth time to put some socks or slippers on and this is what she came up with.

It's Brody's favorite pair of gloves....she is so hilarious. He was so MAD. But she would not take them off. Such a sense of humor. Not sure where
she got her kookiness but it
must be from a certain aunt, maybe in Logan, yeah that's it.

DISASTER

So to enhance our wonderfully massive amounts of snow and twice daily shoveling duties our house has now said that it has had enough. Water began seeping in any little hole it could find or else it made it own holes to enter our humble abode. Tearing out the walls seemed to be the solution so now we are sleeping on an air mattress in our front room. GOOD TIMES!!!!

The first picture is Payton's room. The second our room. And the third our Master Bath.

$7000 later the water took a break and gave us a minor reprieve. Guess it is time to remodel. We have been debating for about a year now and Mother Nature decided "a little less talk and a lot more action".

And now for the icing on the cake our plumbing in the Laundry Room backed up and flooded the whole floor so now we get to cut large chunks of concrete out to replace the pipes. Oh, and once the snow melts we get to reroof. Anyone want to do some demo work let us know so you can get in on the never ending fun at the Jensen House.

So as we are out shoveling today Payton got cold and wanted to go inside. When she went in she stripped all her clothes off 'cause she was wet, so Curtis told her to go get her favorite shirt on and lay on the couch with a blanket. The next time we checked on her she looked like this. SO CUTE. She has on Brody's shirt! She has wanted to go to school with him so bad lately and misses him terribly. When he comes home from school she runs to him and jumps up so he will catch her in the biggest bear hug. She asks how his day was and tells him how much she missed him. At night we even catch her in Brody's bed all of the time. She say's that she got scared. I love how much they love each other and the Brody is her sense of comfort. I only hope that it continues as they grow up 'cause I miss my brothers terribly and only wish we could go back to the days when we adored each other, if only for a moment. Sorry about the sappiness, just thought I would share how precious children are in their innocence and simplicity.

Crazy JuJu

Yes this is my mother and her crazy outfit she showed up to my house in. Snowboard pants, funky colored sweater with goth belt on top (she says it's to keep the snow out), long dress sweater (one of those nicer long sweater jackets that tie at the boobs, supposedly it keeps the snow out too.), snowboard jacket, scarf, funky hat, and some great fashionable boots. The first thing that came out of my mouth was the food that I was chewing on, and then "What the H*** are you wearing". She just sheepishly grinned. She is such a kook but I love her anyways.

SNOW

We just love all of this wonderful, plentiful snow that we have been getting. This is grandma's house after our last snow storm that dropped about 3 1/2 feet of glorious snow on us.
This is my house with it's stupendous ice dams(only about 8 inches above the gutters). LOVE IT
And this is grandma, or as my kids call her "Grandma Sippy Cup".( It's hilarious 'cause it make her so mad and the kids love it.) As you can see, she isn't quite 5 foot tall and the snow is the same height at the end of my driveway. WE LOVE WINTER!

Snow

The kids love to play in all of this snow. Brody loves the sit for hours and play in the snow. He thinks he's king of the mountain.
Payton isn't quite sure about the cold. She likes to play snow castles(mom's version of sand castles, keeps her busy long enough to let us shovel the driveway). We were trying to shovel the heaping amounts of snow, and the kids thought it was funny to lay down right in our way. Snow angels were the next best option and they loved it. Now they do snow angels everywhere....the tub, on their beds, on the floor. Silly Monkeys.

Slumber Party @ JuJu's

So my mom, JuJu, built the kids a playhouse out of the leftover crate and cardboard from her remodel. She even equipped it with a window, shelves, curtains, a lamp, toys and plenty of empty food boxes so the kids can play store. They LOVE it.

We went up to help Mom shovel the snow off of her roof and deck and ended up staying the night. The kids wanted to sleep in their playhouse, so JuJu got some couch cushions and made them a bed and a couch.

Grandma made them pillows out of our clothes in pillow cases. They were so excited that they had their own little house to sleep in. I haven't seen them sleep that good for awhile. Usually they get into bed with us, but not this time, they even slept past 8. Maybe we will have to stay at JuJu's more often.

Clean Teeth

Brody and Payton love to get their teeth cleaned, especially by the dentist. He puts these cool sunglasses on them so the light doesn't bug them. They get to watch a movie while the get their mouth worked on. So far, so good....no cavities.(Shocking since they eat so much sugar, haha.)

The dentist and his assistants always ask "What did you do to your kids?" In shock I ask why? what are they doing?
They Dentist is so amazed at how well behaved our kids are, and that they actually let the assistants use all their drills and scrapers. I guess I don't always appreciate what great kids I have. They are the best.....and they let me torture them in just about any way I want.

Winter Swimming

Payton wakes up every morning "It's swim day mama, it's swim day". She proceeds to put on any and all swimsuits she can find. (Yes, on occasion I have come home to her wearing four layers of swimsuits). So, I decided to let her go swimming.......in the tub.......no soap.(Payton screaming the last part).

She put some toys down the front of her swimsuit and this is how it goes...
"Mommy I am pwegnant....feel da baby kicken" in her innocent voice, eyelashes batting.
"Oh yeah, wow, that's neat....are you gonna be a mommy" my eyes bulging, heart stops, laughing......kind-of.
"Yeah mom, me and my boyfriend......feel da baby mama" grinning and waiting to see mom's reaction. Happy with the shock she has caused.
Boy, are we in trouble. 2 years old and already talking about her and her boyfriend getting "pwegnant". CRAP

Sledding

We went up to JuJu's to do some sledding with Ian and Sarah.

Ian dug out a large hole that Brody kept calling his "egg". (It must have reminded him of the egg you can get in at the Zoo, amazing what kids remember!)

Brody broke trail and made it to the top of the dirt/snow hill with Ian in tow. He is always so excited to play with Ian and couldn't wait to see how far they could go. Let's just say it took them over a half and hour to be able to climb back up to do it again.

Payton, Sarah, and I were next. We didn't get very far, the rear end sank.....imagine that.

**See the Laundry line poles in the background...yeah, those are now buried with snow and another 2 feet above the tops. We needed some snow just not that much!!

New Years 2008

JuJu bought the kids some party stuff to celebrate New Years and they loved it. They couldn't quite stay up late enough so we celebrated at 10 instead of Midnight. The kids thought it was cool making lots of noise and throwing poppers on the porch. Even JuJu joined in the fun of dressing up and being silly. Brody and Payton love her tons and always look forward to the fun things she does with them.

X-MAS '07

So, as always we make the rounds to all the g-mas and open presents like the spoiled children that we are. Brody was so excited that he had predicted and received the Transformer Voice Changing helmet. Payton got a baseball glove that lights up when she catches the ball. She wanted to throw everything just so she could try it out. Needless to say we had to hide it. Of course JuJu got the kids their x-mas eve jammies and they were so happy. Especially Brody and his Hugh Hefner robe that you can't seem to pry off of his body. And as the night wore on in anticipation for the big fat man to stumble in, the kids crashed and Mom can't help but take advantage of another photo op. Merry X-Mas

BLAH BLAH BLAH

So my New Year's resolution is to start this blog so all of our family can keep up with our ever changing silly family. Yeah yeah, I know that I am going back a little ways, but I figured you all would be asking about X-Mas and all so I would just catch you up with our craziness.
